What is the difference between a Starting Point and a Category?
A Starting Point shapes a new record with useful labels and may suggest a Category. A Category is the record’s ongoing organizational home. You can change either while creating the record.
Why did records appear on another device but not open?
CloudKit may have delivered the encrypted record before iCloud Keychain delivered its matching key. Keep both devices online, confirm they use the same Apple Account with iCloud Passwords & Keychain enabled, and unlock HarborKeep again after allowing time to sync. Do not set up a new vault on a device that should open an existing one.
Why does HarborKeep not open automatically after sharing?
iOS does not guarantee that a Share extension can foreground its main app. HarborKeep securely stages or queues the item, then resumes the appropriate Inbox or record context when you manually return to the unlocked app.
How do I enable HarborKeep AutoFill?
  1. Open iOS Settings, then Apps, Passwords, and Password Options.
  2. Enable AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
  3. Under Autofill From, enable HarborKeep AutoFill.
  4. Save a HarborKeep record with a website, username, and password.
What should I know before exporting or restoring?
Keep the encrypted HarborKeep backup and its passphrase in safe, separate places. HarborKeep cannot recover a lost export passphrase. Use merge to preserve existing records; use replace only when you intend to clear the current vault before restoring.
Does HarborKeep send photos or documents to an AI service?
No developer-run AI service receives vault content. Apple Vision, text recognition, and supported Apple Intelligence analyze content on the device. Suggestions remain optional and saved insight is encrypted with the attachment.
